Fossil Birds from Manix Lake, California.
Published in 1955, this is a very scarce item. This short book discusses a great fossil bird location in the area east of Barstow, California. It is just a few miles from I-15 in some badlands country south of the highway.
This area has produced numerous bird bones of various types from several species, including some that are now extinct. Includes six pages of text and one plate of photos of the bird bones. The figures in the book show bones at their actual sizes of several inches long. Several bone types have been found in this area. The locality is given rather precisely on the map in the book. Sounds like a good road trip to me.
This is a very cool publication that just might lead you to some genuinely awesome fossil specimens. This is a scarce item, as I mentioned. I have rarely handled these in years of dealing in these kinds of publications. Don’t miss this one!
