SCARCE ITEM!! RARE IN HARD COVER!!
This is USGS
Professional Paper 257-A, “
Lake Bonneville: Geology of Northern Utah Valley,
Utah
.” Published in 1953, this is a scarce and interesting work, seldom
seen on Ebay. This report consists of the 99 page hard cover book and all three of the
color maps and a large chart of the formations. These were only issued in soft covers, but this was hard bound by a mining company. The gilt lettering on the spine is still bright.
This report examines the
formations laid down by lake Bonneville in the area around the north end of
Utah Lake. This ares is right around Provo which is in the bottom right of the
map area. American Fork and Lehi are also on the map. The maps are pretty cool
looking and would look great framed.
The development and evolution of Lake Bonneville into
Utah Lake and other lakes over time is an interesting story, and the color maps
help make it clear. The cross-section diagram of the formations pieces it all
together. It's amazing what's underfoot that we don't even know about, but this
report pieces it all together. This would be of interest to local residents or
anyone interested in Utah geology. It is a scarce item.
Here is a great opportunity to own an old interesting publication in a rare, well-preserved hard-bound copy.
Shipping weight is two pounds. Expert packing assured. The recent increase in postage rates was pretty big. As a result, Media Mail is now my default shipping method to keep shipping afford
able.
