Here is another wonderful 'classic" mineral book, from 1970! If you look at the organization and photo quality, it becomes clear that Hurlbut Jr. has produced a timeless classic. A book like this serves more than a nostalgic purpose, even in the age of modern media. A book like this explains how and why the interest in mineralogy is important, and how this has been attached to our interest over the decades. And yes, the book also reminds me of all those afternoons, gazing at a specimen photo in a mineral book I took out of the Library, until I memorized every aspect. of it's shape..Alright, some nostalgia after all...
