This is USGS Circular 646,
Origin of the Brown Mountain Light in North Carolina
. Published in 1971, there can’t be many of these around. This 18-page book is actually a reissue of a 1922 study of the Brown Mountain light that was republished in 1971 during a period of increased interest in the phenomenon. It makes for pretty interesting reading. The history and appearance of the lights are described as well as points from which it has been observed. I won’t spoil the secret by saying any more, however, as it wouldn’t be fair to ruin it for the buyer. This is a scarce item I have never seen anyone else offer on Ebay. A rare opportunity for the enthusiast, skeptic or debunker. It makes interesting reading for anyone and is not too technical.
Expert packing assured. The recent increase in postage rates was pretty big. As a result, Media Mail is now my default shipping method to keep shipping affordable.
