Tertiary Gold-Bearing Channel Gravel in Northern Nevada County, California
, Published in 1968, there can’t be many of these around! This 22-page book is packed with information and maps to guide you to those nuggets, and it is in great condition, too! The area covered is near the South and Middle Yuba rivers. This is a cool book I scarcely run across in my USGS dealings, so it can’t be very common. This work describes the geology of this area and the half-million ounce gold deposit that exists within the gravel formations. It also covers some of the historical mining that occurred in the area. Like I said, it is in quite good condition, with hardly a flaw to report. It is really in like-new condition; although I can’t swear it is new, only that it has been well cared for, wherever it was. All in all it is a scarce item on an interesting area and it is in great shape.

This is part of the structural front of the Rocky Mountains and has a diverse variety of metamorphic and igneous rocks. This publication consists of the 45-page book AND THE ORIGINAL FULL COLOR GEOLOGIC MAP, all in very good condition. This is a scarce opportunity to own a scarce geologic publication on an interesting area.
