SCARCE ITEM!! POPULAR ITEM WHEN I CAN FIND ONE!!
This is USGS Professional Paper 382-A,
Stratigraphy and Structure of the Rainier and USGS Tunnel Area, Nevada Test Site
. Published in 1963, these are very scarce these days. This 47-
page book discusses in detail the geology of this area prior to being blown up with 10-ton and 50-ton loads of TNT!!!
It includes all six of the original maps and diagrams.
The idea of this study was to have an excellent idea of the geology of the area as a means to understand the effects of underground explosions, with a view toward testing nuclear weapons. This is a rare cold-war era item and as such it is a bit of a collectors piece.
Expert packing assured. The recent increase in postage rates was pretty big. As a result, Media Mail is now my default shipping method to keep shipping affordable.
Note that I used previous photos of the maps. There are actually NO STAMPS on the maps in this report. A very good example of this old report.

COOL VINTAGE ITEM!! WON'T LAST LONG!!
This Florida Bureau of Geology Bulletin #21,
Geology of Holmes and Washington Counties, Florida.
Published in 1942, this scarce
161 page book
details the geology of these two counties in the Panhandle.
This is a pretty cool book that gives a lot of information about the highlands, coastal lowlands, river valleys, lakes, springs and geologic formations occurring in this highly varied area. All the different underlying formations are described in detail. There are additional maps and cross sections and some interesting photos in the text as well.
This report comes with the original color maps, one for each county. There are both folded and in a pocket in the back of the book
This would be of great interest to
anyone
with
geologic interest in Florida or these counties, and a good gift to a science-minded relative who lives there. These state bulletins are harder to find than USGS bulletins.
Please read the condition notes. There is notable wear.
